Hi, I’m Catalina — but most people call me Kat.
Baking started as a sweet escape, a quiet joy in the middle of life’s noise. What began as a hobby soon turned into a calling I couldn’t ignore. I started experimenting, learning, layering (pun intended!) — and somewhere along the way, I realised: this wasn’t just about cakes. It was about creating joy, one bite at a time.

I never imagined my kitchen would one day become the heart of a business — but here we are. Thanks to friends who believed in me and loyal customers who trusted me, Layers by Kat was born.

Behind every cake I make, there’s a real moment:
A bride’s nervous excitement. A mum celebrating her child’s first birthday. A quiet “thank you” turned into chocolate and cream. These aren’t just desserts — they’re edible emotions.

Whether it’s a minimalist, modern design or a vibrant showstopper, I pour love, patience, and precision into every layer. I don’t cut corners, and I don’t mass-produce. Everything is made to order, fresh and personal.

Every ingredient I use is carefully chosen: from free-range eggs and real butter, to high-quality chocolate, fresh fruit, and natural flavours. I bake like I would for my own family — because often, I am.
